As fishers, we depend on healthy oceans for our livelihoods and because of that, we recognize that utilizing ocean resources is both a privilege and a responsibility. We know that it our duty to be careful stewards of ocean resources; and we are dedicated to the long-term health and viability of our fishery and to the protection of the marine environment through responsible fishing practice.
We strive to be leaders in sustainability—working to become a model for sustainable fishery operations. As a baseline, we strictly adhere to the guidance of the scientific staff at the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) and to all mandates under the Agreement on International Dolphin Conservation Program (AIDCP), and proudly strive for continuous improvement in the management of our fishery. Each of our members has committed to respect and care for our oceans and to strive for operational excellence in our management of marine resources across all aspects of our business.
We have come together as an Alliance to pursue the long-term health and viability of the the Northeastern Tropical Pacific Purse Seine Yellowfin and Skipjack Tuna Fishery.
